We had a great experience! The food and pool were excellent. All of the amenities were top notch. Service was the best! Especially Lucio our server for breakfast and lunch. He always remembered us by name and would treat us like family. By the end of our trip we were friends. Would love to go back

When we first arrived there was a small issue the location of our room. However after addressing it with the manager, Maria Palamino she was able to upgrade us to the perfect location. She was so helpful, and really changed our experience and sincerely can't thank her enough. We were poolside room, bottom floor and made it super convenient, especially with kids and the ever changing needs to run back to the room. I would say if you are considering booking, I would highly recommend upgrading to minimum poolside view. This resort is extremely big and some rooms can be pretty far from the common areas and activities. Overall we had such an amazing time, felt very safe, always something to do, beaches were nice, clean and even had turtles swim up to us. All the services at this resort was just fabulous, and my daughter literally cried yesterday when we had to leave. We have taken many vacations and our usual default trip is Hawaii. My daughter said this was her favorite vacation she has ever had. We would definitely come back and built so many great memories here.

We stayed at Barcelo Maya Palace for 8 days. We were a large group of approximately 40. Upon arrival check-in was a NIGHTMARE on premium level. 3 hours to check-in. We were told there were no dinner reservations for the entirety of our stay even for a party of 4, we were also told we had to pay for room service (false). Night 2 we were able to get into Brassiere restaurant for a $100 tip to a woman in the premium lobby who out of nowhere found a reservation for 5. I have to say it was worth every penny although I wish it went to NELSON, VICTOR, CESAR, and BETH. They changed our trip. They were accommodating, LOVELY, made us feel at home. The hotel is beautiful. Minus check-in you will not regret staying here. The hotel is immaculate. Do not let check-in discourage you. I would come back 10 times! To NELSON, VICTOR, CESAR, and BETH… THANK YOU for your service every night, you all were AMAZING! NELSON.. We appreciate your dedication to your customers.

Jesus Martinez..... amazing, so kind and friendly to his customers. He helped make our night very special. He is my new best friend! Jesus Hernandez was so fun and such a professional. He make us laugh as he continues to bring us meat after meat. I highly recommend this place

We really enjoyed our stay here. We will most likely return. All staff stayed masked up at all times so we felt safe. Covid testing was simple process. I was able to easily get a crib for our baby when I asked at check in ( they didn't see my request for it in my room reservation). Everyone was very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffets. For dinner, we would recommend doing the restaurants. For 7 night stay, you get 5 nights eating at a restaurant. It is hard to get a reservation to all the restaurants, they book up fast. The Japanese restaurant in particular was booked out a week and we were only staying a week so bad luck there. However, we went to the restaurant in person and were able to eat there the next night without the grill show which was better than nothing. Pool is amazing. The beach is nice, you can see some turtles. Staff works hard to keep beach clear of seaweed. The Palace has lots of shady locations to lounge in and out of pool. The dolphins are at the colonial, it's a 10 minute walk to see them. The free show is fun. We paid for the dolphin encounter which was amazing. Pictures cost as much as the encounter itself. The evening musical performances at the colonial aren't advertised very well. The shows were okay and the music is LOUD.

Great vacation as always will be back once again and will stay at the palace every time from now on! The premium level was well worth the extra couple hundred dollars and Raul Vizzuet from the Premium lounge took great care of us the entire vacation from check in to checkout. Can’t say enough about this resort and everything it has to offer. Have been to many resorts but have been here the last 5 times. Nothing else compares, I promise.

The Brasserie restaurant at Barcelo Maya Palace was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at; and I’m from NYC where we have plenty of amazing restaurants. The food here was fantastic (I got the duck and my wife got the beef Wellington for our dinner). The warm bread served before the meal was a nice treat and any of the appetizers were excellent choices. Our waiters and hosts (Nelson, Victor, Marco, Alexia and Cesar) made us feel like royalty while we dined here. We would return here 10 times out of 10. Would highly recommend.

Superb service, excellent food. Our family of 9 arrived late after a long day of traveling, tired and hungry. The Brasserie was just what we needed. Cesar Teller, the manager, was so kind and helpful. Although they were busy, he had us seated and taken taken care of quickly. Bethesda was so kind to us. And Francisco and Yuceli were superior servers. They had our food out quickly, and were very helpful with recommendations. Can not say enough good things about the period. So, so wonderful.

I don't even want to unpack my bags! I just want to go back! One of the best vacations I've had. We went during the pandemic, we had planned this trip for 18 month, and to be honest I was more than a little worried. The staff dispelled those worries straight away! Even with several restaurants and restrictions, this staff went above and beyond for us! Honestly, we never missed what we were missing. So much attention was paid to safety, and I know what I'm talking about, I'm a nurse. I was safer here than in my own home town. The food and service was fantastic. The hotel was pristine. The care and pride in the service they offer was beyond compare! I had the best vacation of my life,so far......we're already booking for next year!

I have been here four times and it never gets old. It has amazing pools that always seem to be the nicest blue and so clean. The food tastes like heaven, and there are so many things to choose from, sometimes there is sushi, or steak, and the deserts are to DIE for. The beach is beautiful, but the sands are a little shelly. The rooms look amazing and there is a fridge stocked with chips and nuts. Overall, this is my favourite spot to vacation EVER.
