“This was the first time hubs and I stayed at an all-inclusive resort, as well as our first time in Punta Cana. We stayed from December 2 - 9th. Our overall experience was wonderful. As other reviews have said, the resort is set up more as an apartment complex instead of a hotel, but it was nice to get some exercise and the walk was pleasant through the landscaped pathways.Food: The food was mediocre. Since we were there during the low season, all the restaurants were not open every night, and we only had one sit down meal at the steakhouse. It was by far the best meal, and hubs said the ribeye was cooked perfect. Every other meal option we had was buffet style and there was much on offer, but a lot of repeats each night. We never went hungry but weren't over the moon for the food. I will say they shine at breakfast because you have every egg, fruit and bread option you can imagine at your disposal - including an omelet station.Rooms:We had a king size bed on the third floor, overlooking the pool area by Ole'. The room was clean and cool. The bed was not comfy, but not the worst I've ever slept on. The girls bust their butts keeping your room clean and always made sure we had fresh towels, even if we didn't toss them on the floor. Our water/soda was always filled and we never had to ask for anything. We tipped them $30 for the week, which I think is very reasonable considering these folks work long hours and deserve a little extra.Entertainment:Again, we were there for the low season, so the resort was not super full. The entertainment staff rounded up people for Volleyball, yoga, aerobics as well as other activities throughout the resort. The foam party in the communal pool was a blast and must visit if you have the opportunity. I can't speak to the evening entertainment since we generally were back in the room before we could experience that.Bars/Drink:The bar staff is by far the most friendly and engaging. We never had to wait for drinks, and had many a long conversation with the guys that provide your beverages. Taking the time to speak with the locals and to learn about their culture is very much worth it. We speak limited Spanish, but with Google translate were able to have a more engaging conversation. Tipping is not required, but greatly appreciated. We made sure to tip the bartenders that we saw daily because they made sure to take care of us, many times before we even needed a refill. Most of the liquors are local, but they do have a few well knows vodkas and whiskey. The local champagne and red wine are very good and a nice break from the sweet boat style drinks. The liquor pours will be VERY heavy handed, so brace yourself. It's all inclusive, so ask for an extra soda water! Mama Juana isn't to be messed with...I'd partake with extreme caution, because she will do you dirty if you have too much.Beach:The beach is lovely. Seaweed is to be expected, and from what we heard from past visitors, this was not bad. The hotel staff does their best to keep it cleaned up, but since this is part of nature you should figure you're going to have to deal with it. The beach vendors can get slightly annoying, but if you just shake your head that you aren't interested, they leave you alone.Pools:We hung out in 2 different pools, the main one by the lobby and the one near Ole'. The main pool is always full, with lots of activities and music. The other pools are quieter, but still have great bar service. You can smoke in the resort, so the main bar pool tends to get a bit grungy from all the ashes.I will say overall our experience was a lovely one. We spent 7 glorious days soaking up the sun and relaxing. Our only real complaint was the quality of the food, and again...we didn't starve. We just weren't wowed. This resort is not 5 star, probably a solid 3.5 when considering the food. I will say the Bambu was probably the nicest of the resort family because as we walked towards the adult only sections for Riu, they seemed dirtier. If you temper your expectations, you'll have a lovely time as well.”

Pros:great beach, water, weather, pools. Cons:litter throughout the resort and beach.None of the rooms have any sort of a view.Food is mediocre at best.All of the special restaurants are bad, real bad except for the Mexican.There isn’t a single romantic spot in the entire resort to have dinner or even a drink.Cheap liquor and only one beer to choose from. Ok: room was decent.We paid to upgrade to the nicest room in the nicest building and it was just ok.Plenty of pool and beach chairs.All in all a very average, unromantic, getaway with great beaches, pool and weather.

The resort and very nice and you can see everybody trying the best to make you happy. The big minus is a intertaiment team. the stuff who is responsible for the classes is extremally nasty, in drunk by 11 am and if you do not bring food to then super nasty to you.

For being a 5 star hotel their food is absolutely awful. Stayed 8 days, been to every restaurant hoping that maybe the chiefs just had a bad day or two. Nope, every day the food was made as if they want you to suffer. Sending this stuff over the border to Hati would be considered a war crime. Half the time the food would either have no seasoning at all or they'd summon the essence of the dead sea itself to salt their dishes. Gordon Ramsey would probably have a stroke if he tried the food here. The beer is good though.

La Pase Muy Bien , Excelente el Trato de Luigi en la Recepción para el check in, muy buenas atenciones de Angela en el Bar la plaza , las buenas atenciones de Tania en el buffet así como de Isaías , la pasamos super bien en el parque acuático , cosas no tan buenas fue el entretenimiento luego de las 12 de la medianoche, pero estoy consiente que es por algunos protocolos que aun existen por el Covid. algunas cosas pueden mejorar en las habitaciones como ofrecer jabón, shampo y otros artículos de higiene básica,Espero volver pronto por mas tiempo y me gustaría conocer los demás hoteles de la cadena RIU.

Servicio debe mejorar, también para lo que se está pagando deberían haber mejor calidad de vinos y botellas más caras al menos, comida debe estar más fresca, en especial en el restaurante de sushi, el servicio de cuarto también sería perfecto que estuviera 24 horas, porque a veces se necesita, de resto cumple con las expectativas y una mejor información en las habitaciones, estaría copada

La playa, los jardines, las piscinas, riuland genial para los niños. Tuvimos una habitación doble familiar, con una cama muy grande y el sofa para los niños bastante bien. La comida mala, el pan fatal.

Waves are huge some days and everyone has fun playing in them. Pools are fun, water park was neat. Masks in restaurants when getting food, that was it. Here until Sunday, it’s Thursday now. Doing snorkelling today, looking forward to that. 4/5. Beautiful trip

Me he hospedado en otros hoteles de la cadena y este nada que ver. Quienes atienden en el bar La Plaza, solamente atienden a quienes no les hablen en español y se esfuerzan por ignorar a los demás huéspedes, en una ocasión nos hicieron comentarios irrespetuosos. La persona de las toallas de playa también mala atención. El grupo de entretenimiento muy mala actitud, solamente un instructor de baile tenía buena actitud, los demás de mala gana todas las sesiones, el entretenimiento nocturno aburrido y monótono. Hay que resaltar que muchos empleados realmente se esfuerzan por brindar excelente atención, principalmente en los restaurantes y las personas de limpieza en las habitaciones.

Directly on the beach. Some walking necessary but not like mostthe others.Food excellent everyday. Great chefs and different variety of food daily.Rooms super clean. No odors. Es la segunda vez que voy y definitivamente no voy a volver. Recibí mal trato del parte del personal repetidas veces. La atención muy deficiente, poco atentos y había que repetir varias veces el pedido muchas veces sin ejecución. La limpieza de las habitaciones muy mala. Más de la mitad delas actividades cerradas sin aviso previo.

Não tenho palavras para descrever como passei meus dias no Riu Bambu ... Todos os dias quando regressava ao quarto depois de ficar na praia durante toda a manha e tarde estava sempre impecavel e de dois em dois dias tambem sempre teve a recomposiçao do frigobar ... Os restaurantes são fartos, perfeito, comida pra todos os gostos! Na janta então você pode escolher entre 6 RESTAURANTES, porém 4 deles tem limite de possoas por dia, entao Caso queira jantar esteja la no momento da abertura 06:30 PM. os bares são otimos também, tem muita variedade de drinks, e em relaçao aos funcionarios, alguns tem q relevar, eles estão la para trabalhar e outros são muito animados e te atendem com todo prazer. A praia, sem palavras, sem sargaço, agua Verde cristalina e areia gorda muito branca, uma delicia, em relaçao aos vendedores ambulantes coloquem eles para correr, so chame um Caso você realmente queira comprar o q ele esta vendendo, pq se nao eles ficam na bota, e caso for fazer passeio eu recomendo muito do buggy, pois a Ultima parada é na praia do MACAO, é a praia Mais Linda q ja vi na minha vida. Eu indico os resorts Riu, com certeza e voltaria facil para Este hotel, perfeito.

Fiquei por 7 dias, e pelo valor pago e o que foi oferecido gostei, os quartos limpos, o ambiente também, as comidas e bebidas saborosas, o lugar em si é encantador, felizmente nos dias que hospedei tinha pouco sargaço pois era o que temia, o mar na maré baixa e o tempo ensolarado é surreal de lindo, há pontos que podem melhorar como a hospitaladade de alguns funcionários, e comprometimento em especial da funcionária do hotel que faz os testes de covid, pois se fosse esperar o tal "e-mail" com teste que PAGUEI teria perdido o vôo, a tal funcionária disse que até às 2:00 pm enviaria e não aconteceu, tive que pagar às pressas outro teste no aeroporto, pois a mesma enviou o teste minutos antes do término de embarque que não me serviria mais, diante do acontecido me senti lesada pois acreditei no que foi passado, outro ponto é a questão do que está no aplicativo, pois a recepção no check in pede que siga às instruções que estão no aplicativo do hotel e vão por mim nada bate o que está lá, pergunte pois é tudo diferente, creio que riu bambu seja um ambiente para pessoas que gostam de festejar e para crianças pois tem bastante!

They cater to Spanish-speaking guests because they seem to form the bulk of their clientele. So they only have a few staff that can speak English and help you with anything - especially a problem when you are lost or trying to order food. Hardest beds ever, with pillows made of several layers of folded quilt batting and nothing else for support (I know because one of our pillows was ripped open right along one side). Worst nightly entertainment - only standard singing and dancing. Most of the food was very bland. Seafood was often the worst out of everything. All the restaurants had the same menu each night. The main buffet changed very little. We paid for all inclusive and then the bartender wouldn't even give me a glass of water after being 2 hours out at the pool without a drink - almost suffered heat stroke. They did a very poor job of cleaning the seaweed off the beach. Doesn't deserve anything near 5 stars. Won't be going back.

He estado en varios hoteles de 5 estrellas, y ninguno con un servicio tan bueno como este. Las habitaciones las limpiaron en varias ocasiones, y son espaciosas. La comida estuvo bastante bien, el parque acuático muy bueno. Pero lo mejor es que te hacen sentir como si estuvieses en casa y mantienen todo limpio, recomendable y repetiría .

Estou neste momento no Riu Bambu do dia 2 até ao dia 16 de Agosto , comprei umas férias em família que foi uma pequena fortuna para 4 adultos e 3 crianças. O hotel nem 2 estrelas deveria ter. O serviço é fraco, a comida é muito má. Higiene deixa muito a desejar. O tipo de cliente que neste momento está cá é tipo de bairro. Não tem segurança nenhuma. Só não vou embora esta segunda feira porque não tenho voo, porque se tivesse ia embora. Posso garantir que é a última vez que venho para este grupo Riu. Resumindo férias para esquecer. De maneira geral o hotel é bom. Atendeu as espectativas que tínhamos. Escolhi o hotel para uma estadia com minha esposa e não me atentei ao fato de que nele eram permitidas crianças, não que seja um problema, mas naturalmente crianças são barulhentas, se caso busca uma programação sem crianças não vá ao riu bambu. Nessa época do ano há muitas algas na praia o que atrapalhava um pouco a vista, mas não impedia o mergulho de mar. Pontos positivos: Variedade de cardápios; o restaurante mexicano serve uns pratos deliciosos. Os drinks são bons. Pontos negativos: Na chegada ao quarto não estava bem arrumado; funcionários apressados e estressados.

Went to Riu Bambu from 8/25-8/28. First and foremost the staff which include bartenders, waiters , cleaning crew and reception are impeccable. The property itself however, could use some serious upgrade. I booked 5 rooms total. Problems included electrical wall outlets that were loose and didn't grab the wall plugs to charge anything at all. In my room the iron and blow dryer were non-functioning. They only put 2 towels in the room when my room alone had 4 people. Oh, and the phone itself wasn't working so I couldn't contact front desk. I met only one condescending person at the front desk, his name was Ariel. My biggest problem was my mom got locked into a bathroom by the restaurant Ole and we couldn't find her for almost over 1 hour. Thank goodness the restrooms are regularly cleaned because that's when she was found. I am giving this hotel a 3, not because of RIU but the staff was great, they made the stay enjoyable.

The hotel room is so so, the sheets were stained and we had two full beds pushed together. But there was a mini fridge, the shower has warm water and there is a balcony. We are on the beach which is nice but there is a lot of seaweed and it can get smelly at the end of the day. The pools are amazing, and there are many of them. They have many bars with tasty drinks, with or without alcohol. You get a towel card that is 30 dollars if you lose. (We never used a towel. It is warm enough you dry quick) the spa is nice and there is a free hot and cold Jacuzzis.
Now on to the food. There is a buffet that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and there is different food. It is all very good. There are also different restaurants you can eat at. Steak and Asian. No reservations. First come and stand in line first serve.
I give it a 5 based on the money spent here, cheaper then some of the other ones, the speediness of the staff to correct anything and make everyone happy.
I will add masks are required in restaurants and while getting drinks.

Our room was horrible, so bad that we couldn’t even stay in it for an hour. We went straight back to the desk and changed our room for several hundred dollars more, we upgraded to the Jr. suite. The room that we first received was dirty, the walls were stained with questionable residues. The sheets had holes, the light fixtures were falling off the walls, it honestly made me want to vomit, it was worse than a cheap motel. The Jr suite was a necessary upgrade (see pics below) I would rate the new suite 3 stars at best but it was much nicer than the first room. The resort itself needs an update, the red/black/ purple/ orange decor is outdated. The service is the only reason that I give this 2 stars. The food is HORRIBLE; there was no seasoning at all, the food tastes like absolutely nothing. Beware of solicitors on the beach, it was extremely annoying and we got scammed out of money because a guy would not leave us alone after taking pics with some parrots and a monkey. The beach is useless with the seaweed that crowds the water. I recommend bringing your own reusable cup, after seeing where the resorts end up.. (trash bins, pool etc). Overall probably my least favorite vacation.

I celebrated my wedding in this resort had a lot of family members traveling from the United States and me living far away from where the wedding was taking place. It seems like it would be hard but it was a good decision. The wedding planner, Astrid Mercedes was great, very professional, she knew what to do with us and our circumstances. I know we weren't easy clients but she did the best to make us feel happy.
My family loved the experience, the wedding was beautiful. I never thought it was going to come out in this way.
Most of the staff members in the restaurants were friendly and helped during the wedding and our time there like Esteban Rodriguez such a nice person, we will always remember him.
If you are thinking to plan your wedding here, I will say for my experience that Riu is a good place.

Falta de cuidado. As funcionárias não limpavam o quarto, não trocavam os lençóis, haviam poucas opções de comida e as que haviam eram mal concessionadas. Falta de atenção na prestação de serviços realizados devido ao do covid. Haviam baratas dentro do Restairante Asiático e a comida de lá era péssima. Em contrapartida os animadores são excelentes. Tudo isto tendo em conta que estamos numa pandemia e que isso pode condicionar na qualidade dos serviços

Esperava mais deste hotel...nem snacks têm á tarde,apenas um restaurante com os restos da comida do almoço. um hotel que recebe crianças,nem supervisão existe na piscina. Houve um dia em que uma criança quase se afogou, a sorte do miúdo foi uma pessoa que estava atenta.a animação é muito fraca. Em relação ao sargaço, vão fazendo montes na praia e nem são recolhidos, conclusão,praia do hotel é para esquecer!

I read the reviews before coming and was a little worried. After checking in my room didn't have the air conditioning working but within an hour it was running fine. After that it was all good 👍! Housekeeping was great, the food was good, the steak house required reservations and was it worth it...the steak was perfectly prepared. I am confused with the poor reviews I read. My experience was great.

If we could give 0 stars, we would. We love Punta Cana. It is beautiful destination for family vacation, but my children this morning said: “it was the worst vacation ever.” The room smells of sewage. Air conditioning barely works. Toilet door is broken. Everything is covered in rust. The fridge is noisy. Food is repetitive. Most servers are nice, but front desk workers are super rude. You cannot call front desk from your room, so if you need something you have to go all the way to the registration desk. There are no shows here at all. In the evening, they play kahoot and sing karaoke. At the beginning of our vacation, we purchased expensive excursion to monkey land. Children were looking forward to it. On the scheduled day, no one picked us up. We called our agent to get a refund, but he said our ride was there for us according to GPS tracker. After explaining to him that all the drivers refused our ticket, our agent (Amstar - Luis) made it even worse. He offered to substitute that tour with another option next day. We woke up at 6 am again and went to the lobby. There, I saw the text from Luis saying the bus is full, so we have no ride again. Luis said, we can call a taxi and go to that park ourselves. I never felt so frustrated, so we refused. Hopefully, we will get a refund for this “excursion”.

Lo pensaríados veces antes de elegirese hotel... Hay mucho por mejorar, en especial la atención al cliente y el servicio en general.. Hay muchos pequeños detalles que faltan. Por ej. Nunca tuve Interneten la habitación... Comida es buena y variada.

Hotel muito bem estruturado. O atendimento é excelente. Se você procura boa estrutura irá encontrar, porém na parte principal muito barulhento. Os drinks são quase todos prontos. A comida é muito variada desde o café da manhã até a janta. Na janta várias opções de restaurantes.

Probably the worst hotel I have stayed in. Let me start by saying that Punta Cana is a beautiful vacation spot and the people are great. Unfortunately this hotel represents the opposite of the island and it’s people. First, they false advertise many things, including restaurants (half of the places are closed, even on the weekend), no 24 hr food and drinks service and availability, no mini bar (unless you call one soda and one bottle of water a mini bar). Second, the rooms smell and hasn’tbeen updated since they opened. Literally everything is rusting and/or broken. Third, don’t expect hot water when taking a shower. Fourth, no working AC. Fiftieth, The selection of food is horrible, unless you are vegetarian. The only selection of meat is chicken or burger.Sixth, when we checked in we were told that we will be noticed by the hotel when it’s our turn to take a COVID test in order for us to fly home.After over a day of not being notified, we decided to check with the front desk (by the way, no access to the front desk from room phone). I was told that I was suppose to take my test that morning and the only available time is next day at 10 am. Unfortunately, my family and I booked an excursion that has to be cancelled within 24 hours for a refund. I contacted the excursion customer service and they weren’t able to cancel with a full refund. We lost hundreds of dollars because we didn’t make it to our excursion due the hotel’s mismanagement of COVID test schedule.Bottom line, I HIGHLY recommend trying a different hotel. As I said Punta Cana is a beautiful place and there many other resort options.

Honestly was amazing. Beautiful place! Our room was a double and the beds were kind of small and not the best but we made it work. The food was awesome. The staff is so kind and ready to help any way they can. Many speak multiple languages. The beach is breath taking and some local guys walk up the shore selling the native stones here. All in all, I would definitely recommend. The only problem I had was the floor being dirty when we arrived but housekeeping fixed that the next day. I will be returning

No matter what’s going down, this place will keep you up. Excellent service, good food, perfect drinks. We love the pool and the beach. We were a little disappointed with bad electrical receptacles in the room. But, in this place, you will feel like it’s all about you. No politics no drama. Great evening shows. No problem to get into the restaurant. For the price we paid, comparing to similar 5 star resorts in Punta Cana, It is an Exceptional deal. Look no farther...

Where do you begin? Phone in the room did not work so you had to go to the lobby and let them know. Waiting for them to fix the phone. Safe did not work had to go back to the lobby again! Waiting again for a different person to show up to fix the safe! Air conditioning system did not work upon arrival had to go back to the lobby again and wait for someone to fix the air conditioning system! No entertainment at all! When it is raining there was nothing to do. The rooms are outdated and do not match the pictures that are listed on their website! Try to get another room and was told that nothing was available. Bathroom only had 2 towels! Staff is not friendly at all and prejudice. Do not recommend this place at all! Mexico is a better option. Do not recommend this hotel at all!

Great place. Some of the commodities, like 24h snacks, were not available due to the pandemic and also good prevention settings do to the same. We still had a good time, good food, great drinks. We had some situations with one of the room but we got a nrñew one the same day.

Don't buy any tour packages at the airport, they have it way cheaper at the hotel. Staff is super cool, natural, and friendly. Food is great and drinks can be obtained from the bar as loaded as you please, just let the bartender know about it. Will definitely be coming back next year.

Noté que casi todo estuvo muy bien, a excepción de algunos de los representante del hotel, necesitaban un poquito mas de empatía, (Recepción), creo que es la primera imagen del hotel cuando uno llega, sin embargo los noté pocos servicales, como a quien le deben y no le pagan, no opino que todos sean así, Pero quien me atendió, lo hizo como si ya estaba cansada de atender clientes, es cuánto, por eso mis 4 estrellas.

Me parece extraño que en un resort 5 estrella , no tenga ningun snap abierto despues de las 10 , cosa que uno cena a las 7 y se queda pasando el rato en la piscinaya a las 11 las personas le da deseo de comer algo y se encuentra con la sorpresa de que no tienen snap abierto solo un sportbar con bebidas , de verdad es mi primer dia y ya me quiero ir muy mala experiencia

0 star review if possiblein 2017 i went to this hotel and got the worst food poisoning of my life. there were multiple people sick from the food while there and then on the last dayi got so sick that i threw up 20 plus times and did not sleep, this alone ruined the 2 weeks i was there for i have never felt so close to death in my life. we had a tui rep take down a full report and this old man who got as sick as me unfortunately died while with his family on holiday. we will never return to punta cana and this is so upsetting from our experience. the only upside i can mention about this holiday and the only positive memory of it apart from throwing up 20 times on the last night and almost not being able to fly home was the free wifi in your room and the amazing spa with dry and wet sauna and a frozen dunk pool.i didnt even pay for this holiday but i feel compensation is still due for this peak lowest point in my life for that entire final night.

No es lo que ofertan, solo un buffet cuando indicaban que habían 5 restaurantes, sin música en el área de la piscina, en check indicaron que la habitación daba vista al mar cosa que no era así... en el servicio habían camareros que daban buen trato otros no el menú del buffet era prácticamente el mismo... fui con mi esposa de luna de miel y ni por atenciones nos recibieron con algo diferente al igual que la habitación nada diferente

La cadena Riu es buena. PERO la habitación que me toco tenía fallos en el aire acondicionado, un lavamanos tapado y el colchón de una de las camas, en pésimo estado.La comida, desabrida, como en la mayoría de los resores ya que cocinan pensando en los extranjeros.Respecto a las medidas del covid solo exigen mascarillas para entrar al buffet y restaurantes. El resto de las instalaciones excelentes.

As everyone has stated this hotel has no idea what they're doing. Especially with Covid!! In the morning we'll serve ourselves and then at dinner they take our Temps and serve us and then dinner the next night we serve ourselves. No consistency even the staff has informed us that they had to pretty much pay off the government last week in order to stay open because they keep throwing RIU parties when they are supposed to social distant. If they run outta hand sanitizer they will just fill it up with some random chemical that isn't the same consistency at all. We paid to go on a excursion the other day and they stuff my family of 9 in a van with 15 other people that we PICKED UP FROM ANOTHER RESORT so so so smart. Not one person has asked how our stay is. And don't even bother to express your concerns to the "hotel manager" He'll just tell you he already has your money and doesn't care contact your travel agent. I asked for a blanket and they brought me an old blanket with rips and holes. And don't bother to upgrade to the deluxe room because the standard rooms are nicer. If you want COIVD come to this resort!

Just post-pandemic stay: All-inclusive menu is back, along with drinks. Service is excellent, not all activities are available due to still in effect covid-19 policies. For the price is really a 5 stars evaluation, you may get better but for triple the price. Iam Really happy :-)

El hotel se vende como un hotel 5 estrellas pero cuando llegas te das cuenta que no pasa de 3 estrellas (y cuidado si menos).3. La comida no es buena, no hay variedad, todo muy lleno de grasa, los cortes de las carnes no son buenos.4. Restaurantes a "la carta" sin reservacion es igual que ir a comer al restaurante bufet principal, no te hacen preparaciones... sobre todo el italiano.

Mi estancia y la de muchos fue un desatre total,la calidad es pesima,para empezar llegamos a las 3 de la tarde y eran las 7 y aun no estabamos registrados,la comida de muy baja calidad,en la habitacion ni shampoo ni acondicionador apenas un jaboncito y papel de baño y gel antibacterial,para conseguir agua o refresco para la habitacion debimos ir a recepcion prque no rellenaban,la playa esta sucia y descuidada ,en la piscina no hay distaciamiento social y para ir a los restaurantes en la noche fue un desastre,los empleados son muy amables pero la administracion es terrible muchisimas personas o mas bien todas quedaron disgustadas con las atenciones del hotel,lo unico bueno fue el parque de agua pero el riu bambu no es un lugar que ni mi familia ni yo ni todos los que nos hospedamos recomiende.

Fui en el fin de semana del día de las Mercedes 2020. Para ser un hotel barato habia una buena variedad en la comida y estaba muy buena. La habitación estaba limpia y todo funcionando bien. Hay un parque acuático con toboganes para adultos y niños que es muy divertido. La piscina estaba bien, la playa estaba limpia.No di un 5 porque en el check in el personal tenia una desorganización horrible.Es un buen hotel para ir con la familia (niños) por el tema del parque acuático. En un momento hubo un público masivo de clientes locales de poca educación (personas con bocinas bluetooth, fumando hookah que esta prohibida en el hotel, etc.) pero al menos el 98% con su mascarilla puesta.

Realmente no disfrute para lo que vale la estancia, aunque no se puede juzgar por motivo del covid-19 pero si van a aceptar tantas personas en el hotel deben tener más personal para atender a los huéspedes...El servicio en el restaurante es pésimo, poco personal para atender la gran demanda, todas las mesas sucias, un solo camarero para la gran demanda de personas, el buffet no varía, una sola actividad en la noche no hay música, en la piscina, el bar de la piscina cerrado todo el tiempo ... A infraestrutura e aceitável, com bastante volume e quantidade, a qualidade é bastante regular, tanto as refeições quanto dos serviços disponíveis, as acomodações são muito boas, simples e mau decotadas, mas com um certo conforto, já os atendimentos e serviços por parte direta de colaboradores, é péssimo, ao ponto de, em uma pesquisa de satisfação, um funcionário chegar diretamente a coibir qualquer comentário negativo, de maneira bastante contundente e intimidadora, mesma atitude adotada no concierge, quando relatado o acontecido... Ponto positivo é a disponibilidade de bebidas alcoólicas de bom nível de qualidade e disponibilidade, com bar disponível nas acomodações.

No hay distanciamiento en la mesas..esta full de gente. No hay protocolo de distanciamiento entre las personas. La comida mala. La piscina parece que soltaron el Covid ahi, llena. Tu preguntas los horarios de las cosas o si está tal restaurante y los empleados en el aire. No vengan para acá si no pueden pagar algo mejor. Ah, la entrega de las habitación es a las 4:00 p.m y duran un vida con cada Cliente,lo raro es cuando te toca ves que no es para durar tanto. No vuelvo más a este.

Para la fama que tiene, no estuvo tan bien, la comida caliente estaba fría, de los 7 restaurantes que tienen solo uno solo funciona por turnos, a la hora del mediodía para almorzar se hacen unas filas larguísimas.. la experiencia no fue del todo agradable. Imagino que por la reducción de personal debido a la pandemia, ya no tienen programas de animadores ni nada..

No me sorprendieron con la comida, yo esperaba otra cosa, el arroz de la paella le faltaba cocción, la carne de res cuando se esta terminando la rosian con aceite, la pizza muy cosida la masa.Tampoco vi ningún extinguidor, ni manguera de insendio.El lugar muy agradable, muchas piscinas y hasta climatisada, te dejan amanecer.Hay mucha pero mucha juka y cigarrillo eléctricos, en la piscina

Muy mal servicio en esta reaertura en Riu Bambú, no hay servicio de maleteros, demasiados clientes y poco personal de servicio. Fui con mis hijas por primera vez, y fue muy desagradable el trato. Los empleados la mayoría de mal humor, solo una noche nos atendió bien un joven mozo llamado Noe, el el restaurant Asiático. Muy cortes y de buen humor. Lo demás fue todo muy malo.

La mejor experiencia en un hotel. La comida es excelente, tiene piscina para niños y el area de juego es muy buena. Le doy 4 estrellas porque el aire acondiconado de la habitacion no enfria lo suficiente como para dormir comodamente y en el caribe hace muchisimo calor todo el dia. Las muchachas que arreglan la habitacion muy amables excepto la supervisora de housekeeping ella tenia mala actitud porque pensaba que no eramos extranjeros y es triste que a los locales que se hospedan aya los traten como si su dinero no vale nada. Tambien doy 4 estrellas por las personas de srrvicio al cliente persi mi celular fui a preguntar y gracias a Dios lo regresaron ellos no me atendian y horas despues buscaron entre las cosas que devuelven y hay estaba. Me hivieron pasar un momento desagradable por no estar atentos a lo que les pregunta. Por lo demas me encantò y si regresaria el precio es super economico y un standar de calidad muy alto

Not a good experience at all. I booked 3 nights at this hotel for my birthday because I thought the hotel was nice, clean and quiet but it was completely the opposite. Since I arrived I noticed the hotel was a mess, the lobby was packed of loud people and luggages everywhere. The lady at the front desk who promise me in advance to put me in a nice room did everything wrong, she put me in the last building of the facility so I had to walk a lot to get to the pool or the beach. Supposedly the fridge was full of drinks and beers upon my arrival but it was empty, I found an opened bottle of water that was previously used by somebody else. I had to request the beverages 3 times and wait over 2 hours to get them delivered to my room. The service was horrible in every single department of the hotel, from housekeeping to the bars. People working there were nice alwaysbut in general the service sucked. The pools were packed at anytime, people and kids were screaming and running around, definitely not a good place to relax. The beachis beautiful but full of seaweed and nobody cleaned it up. The food was not too good. Having all these bad experiences from the beginning I decided after my first day to transfer to another hotel which was the best thing I could have done. At the time of check out the lady in the front desk who did my check in didn't say not even a good bye or anything, everything was cold. The hotel itself is not bad but it's sad that the personnel who work there don't do the right thing to keep the customers happy. I was told that the lack of good service at this property is because most of the people that stay there are national tourists that receive great and cheap prices to stay a night so you can imagineeverything else. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. Believe me when I tell you "Do not stay here". There are better places like the riu palace Bavaro or others.

Do not stay here!!! I have no idea where the start. We were in PUNTA CANA, for only four days and we decided to extend our stay and try a new resort. We have stayed in other RIU but this was a disappointment. We had a deluxe room which I cant tell the difference but it was very far from everything, the walk was extremely far and the other couple that were with us also had a deluxe room but closer to the pool the beach and lobby. There were able to move us after complaining of how far our room were. These is one of the worst resort, during the pandemic they hotels aren’t supposed to be at 100% capacity well that wasn’t the case here. It was over crowded and no one checked our temperature unlike our previous resort. The buffet was open for everyone to serve themselves (unlike the previous resort no one could touch serving utensils) food was cold tasted like left overs. Beach chairs weren’t being sanitized , we made it to one specialty dinner and same, buffet style and cold. The pool was packed people were having a party and of course no one was social distancing. On our last night the fire alarm went off 4 times! From 4:30 am to 8. Lucky we had a late flight so we were able to sleep in late but our friends were getting picked up by 7 they didn’t get no rest. Staff wasn’t friendly, you can tell they were exhausted and overwhelmed. Please tip them still they were getting treated bad by other tourists. Overall i wont recommend it, very ghetto I hated there.

Estuve alojada el día 15/08/2020 Le doy 2 estrellas porque tienen que mejorar en la comida; casi no encontrécomo que comer que me abriera el apetito y me diera gusto al paladar y aparte de que no hubo variedad en la comida, sabía desabrida y cuando no salada comida mala. Tambiéna donde tienen el snack disponibleno hay variedad solo hamburguesas, nachos y hot dog mejoren eso.Y dos batender en el turno d la noche se burlaron de mi cuando le pedí un trago,jamas volví a ese bar por el trato. Y lo únicoque me dijeron pero vale y haga una queja.Y el show dejó mucho que desear, muy aburrido.

El hotel tiene buena comodidad,buena comida y bebida.el personal tiene de la carpeta y los bares tienen muy mala forma con el publico.desde el mismo dia que llegué hasta el último pedi que me arreglarán la caja fuerte y nunca pero nunca lo repararon. Todos los bares estan cerrados hasta las 10 am .solo un bar y si estas en la picina o playa no puedes ir mojado.el restaurante mamajuana los empleados te tratan sumamente mal.el check-out es a las 11 am y si deseas quedarte unas horas mas te cobran 10 dolares, cuando fui a preguntar para quedarme 2 horas me quisieron cobrar 20 dolares, cuando reclame enseguida me bajaron el precio.

El trato de un 80% de los empleados da mucho que desear , no te provocaa volver al hotel solo con el trato de los empleados , no te hacen sentir comodo . La habitacion no le funcionan los enchufes por lo menos en la que yo me quede y tampoco podias regular el aire . Pero con respecto a instalaciones (piscina , playa ) super bien . Tambien la comida que te dan en los restaurantes no es tanbuena en los que no son buffet te la dan recalentada .

El complejo Riu, es bonito y organizado en el caso específico del Riu Bambú siento que el lugar debe mejorar alguna cosas como que no te llevan las maletas y las habitaciones tiene escalera sin rampas para acceso de discapacidad, la limpieza es buena y el personal es amable, la comida y bebida es aceptable, las piscina están a pleno sol sin ninguna oportunidad de sombra, el lugar es muy verde y tranquilo, la playa deben de limpiarla más temprano y con decisión.

I didn'tlike this hotel, the food is not good and the drinks, also they have no variation and they bring the water every two days to the room and that is not enough especially for a person like me who drinks a lot of water. and the show is ok but they don't do it every night and it gets boring when is not show, the cleanliness is excellent but overall I didn't like the hotel.

This is a fairly nice resort. But because of COVID many things aren't open or are limited. Wearing masks was only enforced in the eating areas, and the buffet allows you to serve yourself (other resorts haven't been allowing this). If you are high risk (covid)this is not the place for you.The rooms are nice and AC worked well. This is a very large resort so plan on walking quite a bit to get where you want to go.

I traveled July20-24,2020. My original resort did not open back up due to COVID and the airlines suggested Riu Bambu. I was like cool they have a water park for my son and I stayed at the sister property in Jamaica.Day 1 water park closed employee said it will tomorrowvery limited with food/buffet. Customer service not friendly at all 4 people at the lobby counter no one is at the counter but I waited over 5 min for someone to help me.Day 2 water park closed no one can tell me why. Day 3 my son and I did an excursion came back water park open (yayyyy) well my 5yr old is sliding I’m sliding and more families began to come and the employee says he can no longer slide he is too short. We have been sliding multiple times and all of a sudden more people come and he was too short. Another family was about to slide and their son was literally an inch shorter than mine and he allowed them to go.. I walked all the way back to the lobby complained to the manager who said he would speak with the employee walked all the way back to splash slide 1 time and the employee said he can slide today but not tomorrow. My son is 47’ in and was tall enough.. The wi Fi never worked in my room and the tv had bad reception on every channel. Told front office, nothing. Day 4 we did not go to Splash the Buffett got better food but by now I am ready to go.. I have only stayed at the Hard Rock in PuntaCana 2x this was my first time staying somewhere else and I will not recommend Riu Bambu Punta Cana to anyone. Pay the extra $500 and stay at Hard Rock they are very friendly and everyone speaks and welcome you.

They have all the rules for covid 19 but they are not following them, the people use the mask if they want, I feel insecure it was full of people in every pool, their food is really bad the same menu every day all day, and their show is really super boring, they are selling dreams, the water slide are really far way from the hotel and the costumer service is not professional, not help with our luggage, i did not want to be there the first day and they did not let me cancel the reservation, they dont have 24 hours service, and the bar is super limited.

This is a nice hotel. Avoid the weekends it gets crowded!! The evening shows could be better.. I felt like staff was not probably trained to handle covid19 measurements, specially in the main buffet area. I was not able to enjoy the main pool at all, it was very loud and crowded..The room was nice but not the my bed.

Buena infraestructura, excelente wifi. Las piletas son muy buenas, la playa está cerca y es hermosa. La comida y la barra más que bien, si bien es cierto que no hay mucha variedad, es bueno lo que hay. Lo malo es que siendo 4 (2 mayores y 2 niños) te dan una habitación con una cama king size más una de una plaza que es sofá. La otra opción es 2 camas de plaza y media más una cama sofá de 1 plaza.

Claims to be 5 Star, is 3 at best.It's part of an enormous impersonal complex miles from any thing remotely Dominican.Food average, rooms, average, people very friendly. Beach plagued with touts and hawkers but a stunning place to swim.Not so much a holiday as an excercise in emptying your wallet.I could have gone to the Mediterranean and had the same holiday for less than half the cost.The island is stunning and more needs to be done to bring guests this real experience, sun sand and booze holidays, if that's your thing, can be had a close closer to home at far lower cost.

We travelled with a large group of friends (10 in total), we picked this resort because it has something for everyone.Our group enjoyed the evening entertainment, the foam parties, pool bar, food and the beach!There is a good selection of a la carte restaurants.The sports bar has a snack bar, not great options.Our room was nice and very clean.The cleaning staff are excellent!The resort is large and the buildings are spread out, if walking is an issue for you, I would recommend you state that when you book to get a room closer to the main building and action.

Gorgeous long beach. Wait staff come to the beach chairs quite often which is very nice. All the restaurants were good, buffet had a lot of choices every meal. The vendors on the beach are there but do not harass you. Make it clear you're not buying and they move on. The night shows in the lounge are good fun. The Sammy Sosas, the dirty monkey, the Mama Juana are all very good.The staff were all nice and helpful.Went to the water park, it's clean, well kept up.I really can't say anything bad about any part of our trip.

A nice all inclusive experience. The drinks are made surprisingly well albeit with well liquors and local beer only. The property is kept clean and tidy with professional staff, but (free) activities are rather generic and food can be repetitive. The pool party at the adjoining riu property is a blast for adults who are into loud music and crazy parties. Making reservations for dining at the Steak House is worth the wait and hassle.

This is a 3 star resort. I am Canadian and booked my trip through "SUNWING" they state it as a 5 star. I stayed there Jan 2020 and my stay was "just ok" I will break it down for you. I had my wife and my 2 boys age 3 & 5Accommodation:-beds were very old and only doubles. My boys were suppose to sleep on the pull out couch but the mattress felt like it was from the 1940's so they slept with us.-only one plug in the room worked to charge your phone(my brothers room had the same issue)- they cleaned to rooms but with heavy bleach! we had to leave the room and open the screen door on 2 occasionsFood:the food looked good but had no taste ( I understand the food isn't the best anyways but still wasn't great)- we were not able to get food anytime we wanted (at an All inclusive I would assume there is "buffet" open from 9-10pm) NOT HERE-there are different restaurants but they all are buffet, no ordering from a menu (which was not great)- I found it difficult with 2 young boys that we couldn't get food from 4pm-6:30pm. That's the time they open back up for dinner, which is bad timing with young kids.Drinks:- drink options were limited, 1 kind of beer and most of the tropical drinks came out of a slushy machine. I have been to other resorts were they use 5 ingredients to make a drink (not here)- servers were not very friendly eitherBeach:-beach was nice, lots of chairs to sit on (although grimy)-no drink service when you are on the beach- the towels they provide are a little worse for wear. I wondered if they cleaned them sometimesWater park:This was probably the best part of the resort, the kids really enjoyed it.I am usually not a big complainer, but this place was lacking a lot.I wouldn't go back

Roaches, bad service. Allowed a guest that was not on my reservation to have access to my room without even notifying me. I could have been murdered. Did nothing when I brought it to their attention. Employees steal. Literally asked us why we didn't put a bar of chocolate in the safe if we didn't want it stolen, along with other items. Rooms dirty, restaurants filthy. Look in the forks and knives containers and you will see roaches. Will NEVER return. Packed on the weekends because of day passes.

It is beautiful there, staff were really nice and people were very social. Id give it 4.5 stars. I thought the staff were lovely. Its abit loud there, People got very drunk so they knocked it half a star, so couple atmosphere its for you if you like bouncy & lively. If your calmer hotel next door for your older couples lets say. I think some of the elder generation found drunken people by pool bar too much. Cant blame them as was a little disappointing. All for having a laugh & fun but some people ruined it for others. Food is bliss recommend italian & steak.

Riu in Cancun were very accommodating to the needs of vegan and vegetarian. But this location despite having a larger variety of food doesn't like to make anything special for their vegetarian guests. Big disappointment over riu in Cancun who provided a way better customer experience. Hotel is amazing with great accessibility to the beach and nightly shows provides a great vibe. You will never get bored here.

We just got back from a 7 day stay and overall we were very happy. We checked into our Junior Suite which was 2 doors away from the main hallway and we could hear every one’s conversation as if they were standing in our room.We didn’t want to make a fuss, but there were a few other minor things we wanted to bring to the attention of hotel staff (refrigerator leaking water, sink plugged, and smell in our room). Upon sharing this, they kindly upgraded us at no charge to a jacuzzi room with a garden view in a complex closer to the ocean and separate from the main hotel. It was absolutely beautiful; however, the air conditioner didn’twork great and only allowed us to have it 22 degrees Celsius. Also the bed had a musty odor and dampness to it. Theshower also leaked every time we use it.The cleaning staff was awesome. She made our room beautiful and also kept us well stocked with water.I’ve read other reviews about the food, and for me I’m not sure if it was something I drank or the food, but I came down with a severe stomach bug our 3rd day there. It was absolutely horrible, and I never had anything like it. Once that subsided I got a cough/cold, so it’s hard to say if it was anything truly related to water or food or something going around.Overall the service, activities, staff, grounds, and beach were beautiful. The pool party was also fun and definitely something to check out at least once.We loved the variety of the food but sometimes the quality wasn’t the best. For example, the steakhouse had very tough steak and the lobster was not good at all.The fusion restaurant and Italian were my favorite along with most people in our group of 12. The Japanese restaurant was just okay.

Especially the front desk brings the standard down to 2 stars.I missed my connecting flight and ended up checking in 2nd day then I was sent out an invoice with no show fee of $120 USD. It took more than 2 hours to check me in then was given a room backing on to the lobby (Villa #24). It is noisy all night.I was told that they were over booked. I tried calling the hotel contact number and hung up twice.Cons:Entertainment is a joke. They were advertising for their casino.Kids' magic show at 9:30? It's too late for the kids.Watered down alcohol.Letting employees sell coconut in the resort?Front desk staffs are helpless, slow and don't care about the guests.No snack bar (hot dog, burger, fries, etc.). So called snack bar has food in the fridge.No lifeguard at the beach or pool.Pros:Food - Food is okay but restaurants close early. Restaurants are also buffet style. I heard that there is only one al-a-cart restaurant.There is a free shuttle if you book resort directly but have to listen to their excursion sales pitches.Water sports are free but had hefty training fee $30 for sailing training and then you are on your own.Wi-Fi is amazing, each room has an access point.Mini-bar is good. They provide water, Pepsi and beer.No room servicesNo show up fee of $120 USD even if you pay in full and don’t show up.

I went on vacation with the my family over December holiday.If you are a family with young kids or any kids, this wouldn't be a place for you. From what i read i thought it was family friendly resort but it is not. I was very disappointed by the lack of activities they had for young kids or shows for adults.Pros-Food was okay- Some staff are nice-Beach is cleanCons- from a week of my stay, there were only two days they had shows for kids (10 mins of dancing on the stage.)- Kept promoting casino and parties- Guest smoke in the front seating areas.- Front desk will try to make money off the taxi driver they call for you. which happened to us we were really disappointed. DON'T TRUST THEM-There wasn't much variety of seafood and meat. The only seafood we seen was fish.- Sunwing tour guide( be clear and concise before booking anything)-Alcohol is VERY water down.

This is NOT a five-star resort. The property is okay, the food is decent, but the service was some of the worst I've experienced. Front desk staff seemed inconvenienced when asked for help. The worst part was the night our daughter got really sick and the bathroom needed immediate attention. My wife offered to clean it herself and asked the front desk for cleaning supplies and was rudely given towels. She had to rummage thru the housekeeping carts for cleaning supplies! In our time of weakness, our hosts couldn't be bothered. I can overlook no shampoo/conditioner, the brown towels, no alarm clock or coffee maker in the dated room, but I shouldn't be made to feel like I'm in the staff's way as they float along on "island time". Beach/pool towels always running out and always ready in "20 minutes"...one hour later, towels ready in "20 minutes"! For a family resort, I was surprised to see zero lifeguards anywhere...pool or beach. The best thing about Riu Bambu is that it is located on Bavaro beach which is dynamite! However, I'd recommend staying at a different property along this strip. Easy to say that I'll never stay at another Riu location after this experience.

Hotel could use a modern update as the decor was very dull and old looking, but overall the food was mostly great (dont eat the sushi though) and the staff were friendly. One thing was most of the rooms have broken air conditioners... which was unbelievable. I heard this complaint from at least 5 other guests which makes me think it's a fundamental issuen to fix. The beach is well taken care of. I've been to about 5 all inclusive trips so far and this would rank a bit below my average experience (I paid 1500$ flight included from Toronto and a similar price for all of my other trips in December (14 to 21).

One of the entertainment guys tried to kiss me and it was so awkward. I had to report him. And the food is ok. The service is not good. None of the workers are helping you. The beach is really nice and the pool. But everything else is pretty bad. The rooms look like an apartment complex and the room smells like mold. Overall this hotel was ok but not great

Excellent hotel right on the beachfront. We took my partner for 19 days in May we had a couple of showers but stopped within 10 minutes and extremely hot the rest of the time. Food was wonderful and all inclusive! We preferred the buffet style restaurant as it was easier to get seats and had a mixture of the foods from the other restaurants. Ideal romantic get away we will be back!

U can taste the difference.The sit down /reservation restaurants definitely live up on the standards.The American steak house serves a mammoth steak.. And was done to perfection... Juicy and flavourful.The Kulinarium restaurant was definitely solid...That's the only two I tried.. Since I spent a lot of time outside the resort.The only complaint I had was the mattresses in the rooms were really poor.. Especially for a resort that calls itself 4+ to 5 star...Even the pillows could be better.. Staff was really amazing too.

I got very sick on this trip because of the food, and many others i travelled with did too. The hotel did not seem to care about helping my family and i, and there was no action taken when we called the lobby for cleaning supplies and other necessities to help to help the situation. Also, the resort is under staffed and does not have any organization to time schedules. The resort is also very crowded and the restaurants do not have the proper capacity to hold all of its guests. However this beach is very nice and well kept. If you are looking to stay here, reconsider your options.

El mejor de los riu para jóvenes, es el que mejor ambiente y más fiesta tiene.El personal es muy atento sobre todo los animadores y los camareros, tiene varios buffets además de varios restaurantes, piscina con barra, escenario con espectáculos en vivo, eventos y juegos.Totalmente recomendado sobre todo si eres joven y te gusta la fiesta porque aquí tienes fiesta todo el dia.

Pero personalmente considero q no es un Hotel 5 estrellas. No se lleva el wao q un cliente necesita.Empiezo por los Salones. El Colonial amplio cómodo, pero solo el 5 % de meseros tienen actitud de servicio y dejaré sus nombres.Wilvin y Girberto excelentes, David, Cayetano buenos. Los demás les falta. Algunos ni el saludo te responden y esto va incluso con los bartenders. El restaurante Sport Planet le falta mejorar con el tema de comida que brindan. Al menos para ser un 24h. En un hotel q vive a lado del mar los mariscos son escasos. No hay comida preparada con camarones, conchas o cangrejos.En el hotel habíamos personas de diferentes nacionalidades argentinos chilenos, norteamericanos y europeos alemanes españoles y rusos, pero había un importante grupo de latinos q no se exactamente de donde eran, no sé si boricuas cubanos, dominicanos, pero pusieron el caos en las piscinas y el restaurante. En el restaurante no hacían cola para coger la comida y en las piscinas hubo uno que se orino en la piscina como que fuese baño público. No hay quien ponga el orden en estos sitios.Las habitaciones son algo estrechas. Hay ventilador de techo y aire acondicionado pero no hay el control remoto del aire acondicionado. Hay minibar, aguas, colas y licor. Una cama de resortes pésima. Las almohadas son de piedra.Las piscinas son muy agradables, la temperatura del agua es buena, pero no tienen salvavidas ni de adorno.En las playas no hay salvavidas. Es decir la seguridad de las personas hospedadas no es prioridad.En los almacenes de ventas la mayoría no tiene el precio de productos en la moneda local. Todo en dólares. Y algunos locales q tienen sus precios en pesos dominicanos y preguntas cuanto cuesta te responden el precio en dólares y te suben entre 5 y 10 dólares más su precio real. Sólo puedo recomendar al local tienda Carey II Higüey Do, no te estafan.Al hotel le hace falta más baños públicos en todo el hotel. Le hace falta más duchas sobre todo para quienes regresan de la playa hacia el hotel.Debo hacer una mención especial al "sancocho dominicano" es muy sabroso

In the beginning I was kind of concerned about going to Punta Cana but I had an amazing experience. First of shout out to all staff at Riu Palace Macao. They are very friendly, always delivering an amazing customer service . The staff at the reception as well always making sure that all guests are being taken care of.I definitely will come back to Punta Cana and Riu Palace Macao is my favorite resort.

Just leaving the hotel now. It’s our 2nd time here but first with our kids. The rooms are very clean, food is great, pool area,lobby and beach is very clean. The staff is very hard working and Salmon was the best at keeping my husband and son entertained at water sports. The one thing I did not enjoy is on weekends they have the locals come and they over populated the resort. They are rude and think they are better then you. One local pushed my son at dinner time out of line. All because I don’t fully speak or understand their language they talk rudely about us and stare. Riu Bambu is my favourite hotel but when we were here 2 years ago it wasn’t the same. Please cut down the amount of locals.

Este hotel es realmente hermoso!!! Todos los empleados que te atienden son simpáticos y atentos, siempre pendientes del huésped. La comida variada y muy rica. El desayuno increíble por su variedad. Las piscinas hermosas y la playa increíble. Las habitaciones muy limpias y prolijas. La animación agradable... no te invaden. Al igual que los vendedores de la playa, te ofrecen sus productos pero no son cargosos.Tragos a toda hora en los varios bares que posee este hotel. Lo recomiendo.

Started out great. Night 1, noticed bites on my kids, night two (we had not been in sand) more bites appeared, this time, one on myself. Narrowed it down to the three of us being the only ones who slept in the king bed, my husband slept on sofa bed and didnt have anything. Went to front desk to make a report. Was told hotel is full and we had to stay in the same room again, to which we slept on the floor bc of the bed bug bites that were identified. The following morning, told at 10am we would get it handled. After 4 hours of getting rude customer service lady named ingrid in my face being sassy....then to oliver at the front desk who was a supervisor and told us he knew about this 10 min ago...not last night at 7pm when i made the report. I demanded the hotel to be responsible for washing all of my laundry asap and returning it asap, not the 72 hr normal turn around. They tried to get me to sign something that said riu is compensating me for my laundry and that i am100 percent fully satisfied. I refused to sign, bc i was not fully satisfied. With the help of our wonderful Amstar Rep, Dennis, we finally made progress to behind the desk in a managers office. After a lot of spanish speaking going on amongst themselves, i had had enough. Dennis was pulled in to translate for me what they were all talking about. It lasted Hours. Needless to say, at 245p i was given a new room...i had been without since 7am. After producing pics of my kids with their bites, and pics of the actual bugs we discovered after taking mattress off, you would think some sort of apology or compensation would take place. Nope. We were given the exact same typroom, to which when we got in it,there were open drinks and an open coconut in the fridge. Clearly the room was not thoroughly cleaned. But, hopefully no bed bugs. Im not looking. I cant. Im so discusted. They wasted the entire day today we had to have beach time or excursion time...nothing. i had to straight up tell Guillarmo i wanted an apology. Finally, after he looked at my pics, apologized. I then asked if they could reimburse me for the steroid cream (10 bux) i paid for my kids bites. He said no. This resort doesnt pay for things like those and until the investigation is over..he wont say they are bedbugs. Thats clearly a tabu word. I asked for a reservation for dinner, he agreed and that was all the compensation i was given from the resort. I was told there were bigger problems going on within the 5 resorts and this one is nothing. I told him to go tell my kids,who are outside that door clawing at bedbug bites, go tell them that their problem doesnt matter. He said, thats not what i meant...i replied but thats what you said, and that is exactly how your entire staff has treated us. I have never been so dissapointed in a vacation. Beautiful scenery, but clearly cleanliness and health are not a top priority.I would not be doing justice if i didnt tell you that room 6017 had bedbugs the past 4 days. Supposedly they are treating for it. However, he disnt have a solution for the multiple blood stains and mold on the linens and mattress. Said his housekeepers do a great job.I plan to go to that room in the morning and advise them to investigate before they stay. My travel agent has been nothing but wonderful, and the amstar guys have been nothing but wonderful. If you need an excursion booked, or have any general questions....these guys are on your side...not hotel. Use them. They know people, know the past complaints of hotel and have connections. Me & my sister were there 2 weeks ago & our first impression was disappointing. Had to more or less find our own way to our room with some finger pointing direction. Found our room to be dated, unclean & a cockroach running about in the fridge. Management did move us to a slightly better room after some discussion.Food at the hotel was sub standard, plenty of choice but never hot. We hardly ate. Staff in the buffet restaurant were friendly & helpful. Staff in lobby bar were mainly off hand & the same at the pool bar & snack bar. Entertainment at night was pretty dire. My first time at this hotel & sad to say don't think I will be back. Badly needs refurbished .

My family and I went here last month (June 2019). I waited to do this review because I wanted to make sure I wasn't giving a bad review out of anger. The only thing I liked about this resort was checking out.If you like to do a lot of walking you'll love it here. I didn't like having to walk so far from my room (which was at the very back of the resort) to the pools, restaurants, and front desk. I would suggest the resort get a golf cart because we had elderly people in our group and they had a hard time getting around even being in handicap rooms. The first day we thought the air conditioner didn't work in one of the room but one of the kids left the patio door cracked and the air conditioner will not work if the patio door is open. We had to keep going to the front desk because the door key kept deactivating. The food was terrible even the breakfast food. All the restaurants basically serve the same thing so everything taste the same. The hibachi restaurant is not really hibachi. Meaning they don't cook the food in front of you. It's just a Chinese buffet. I will say that this restaurant was the only decent place to eat so make sure you make your reservations. Iwill include the best picture I could get of the food. The entertainmentwas just ok but nothing special. We enjoyed the sport bar. The bartenders made decent drinks and our housekeeper was really sweet and kept the room really clean. Make sure you buy or bring mosquitoe spray because they're really bad. Especially if you eat at the Mamajuanna restaurant. We also had to fight the flies away inside the restaurant. So, no I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone.

My Wife and myself were NOT impressed with what they promoted asLive Music nightly.. It was Two Karaoke singers.. with one standing behindeither a keyboard or holding a guitar. FAKE playing the instruments!Can't understand WHY they would lie. and with so many REAL musiciansavailable! The picture I post will tell all. Told the entertainment director, how knewthey were faking.. and she could care less.Also.. Nothing online says the pool closed at 6pm. At a resort?? Thats a firstfor us. They REALLY need to post that information. Not much to do after dinner there.Casino.. or.. FAKE live music.. If not into that.. go to bed.I did give this resort decent marks for the food, the layout, the beach, the value and some of the service. Not the front counter people. Very impatient & sometimes not very helpful. Also.. The room service is a JOKE. Don't even bother with it.Just VERY disgusted with the FAKE musicians. EVERYTHING is Karaoke, and. not very good at that.. Many people wanting to dance and have fun.. but.. the quality was just bad. And not playing music that was known or that was danceable.

This was the first time hubs and I stayed at an all-inclusive resort, as well as our first time in Punta Cana. We stayed from December 2 - 9th. Our overall experience was wonderful. As other reviews have said, the resort is set up more as an apartment complex instead of a hotel, but it was nice to get some exercise and the walk was pleasant through the landscaped pathways.Food: The food was mediocre. Since we were there during the low season, all the restaurants were not open every night, and we only had one sit down meal at the steakhouse. It was by far the best meal, and hubs said the ribeye was cooked perfect. Every other meal option we had was buffet style and there was much on offer, but a lot of repeats each night. We never went hungry but weren't over the moon for the food. I will say they shine at breakfast because you have every egg, fruit and bread option you can imagine at your disposal - including an omelet station.Rooms:We had a king size bed on the third floor, overlooking the pool area by Ole'. The room was clean and cool. The bed was not comfy, but not the worst I've ever slept on. The girls bust their butts keeping your room clean and always made sure we had fresh towels, even if we didn't toss them on the floor. Our water/soda was always filled and we never had to ask for anything. We tipped them $30 for the week, which I think is very reasonable considering these folks work long hours and deserve a little extra.Entertainment:Again, we were there for the low season, so the resort was not super full. The entertainment staff rounded up people for Volleyball, yoga, aerobics as well as other activities throughout the resort. The foam party in the communal pool was a blast and must visit if you have the opportunity. I can't speak to the evening entertainment since we generally were back in the room before we could experience that.Bars/Drink:The bar staff is by far the most friendly and engaging. We never had to wait for drinks, and had many a long conversation with the guys that provide your beverages. Taking the time to speak with the locals and to learn about their culture is very much worth it. We speak limited Spanish, but with Google translate were able to have a more engaging conversation. Tipping is not required, but greatly appreciated. We made sure to tip the bartenders that we saw daily because they made sure to take care of us, many times before we even needed a refill. Most of the liquors are local, but they do have a few well knows vodkas and whiskey. The local champagne and red wine are very good and a nice break from the sweet boat style drinks. The liquor pours will be VERY heavy handed, so brace yourself. It's all inclusive, so ask for an extra soda water! Mama Juana isn't to be messed with...I'd partake with extreme caution, because she will do you dirty if you have too much.Beach:The beach is lovely. Seaweed is to be expected, and from what we heard from past visitors, this was not bad. The hotel staff does their best to keep it cleaned up, but since this is part of nature you should figure you're going to have to deal with it. The beach vendors can get slightly annoying, but if you just shake your head that you aren't interested, they leave you alone.Pools:We hung out in 2 different pools, the main one by the lobby and the one near Ole'. The main pool is always full, with lots of activities and music. The other pools are quieter, but still have great bar service. You can smoke in the resort, so the main bar pool tends to get a bit grungy from all the ashes.I will say overall our experience was a lovely one. We spent 7 glorious days soaking up the sun and relaxing. Our only real complaint was the quality of the food, and again...we didn't starve. We just weren't wowed. This resort is not 5 star, probably a solid 3.5 when considering the food. I will say the Bambu was probably the nicest of the resort family because as we walked towards the adult only sections for Riu, they seemed dirtier. If you temper your expectations, you'll have a lovely time as well.

The beach was amazing! The food was really good! The alcohol was local, but at certain bars you can ask for top grade alcohol. I had the best time of my life. I do not recommend drinking the hotel alcohol. I didn't feel well after drinking it. Other than that, it was amazing!!!!! I totally would recommend going here if you want to have a good time!

I been to several one, but unlike Vegas, the alcohol is free, which make the difference. The party is insane.

Most of all employees can speak English so if you don't know Spanish its not an issue. This resort is a more laid back kinda quiet at times which i liked. Very peaceful. Would highly recommend this resort.

Don't buy any tour packages at the airport, they have it way cheaper at the hotel. Staff is super cool, natural, and friendly. Food is great and drinks can be obtained from the bar as loaded as you please, just let the bartender know about it. Will definitely be coming back next year.

I felt like staff was not probably trained to handle covid19 measurements, specially in the main buffet area. Deben limitar la cantidad de personas permitidas en este lugar. Fui con mi familia y al ver el peligro de tantas personas (muchas sin educación) decidimos cambiar de hotel. Puedes cambiarte al Palace pagando 20 dólares por noche. Pero vale ella pena el cambio cuando se trata de seguridad y buen manejo en medio de una pandemia.

El único problema es que si un cliente pide un uber, en el hotel le dicen que no pueden ir abuscarlo que tiene que ser un taxi obligatoriamente del hotel. Favor arreglar ese tema de diferencia entre un uber y un taxistas local.

Mal servicio al cliente, mala comida, no hay distanciamiento de ningún tipo. La seguridad estaba ausente. Personas con música alta en las habitaciones, fumando juka en la piscina, sin mascarilla, etc.

No me gustó mucho, quizás por la situación actual es que tienen tanta restricciones. No tienen mucha variedad en la comida , no tienen seguridad en los parqueoshasta el vehículo me rallaron de maldad.

Mi experiencia en Riu Bambú fue regular, hay mucha humedad, por ende la habitación tiene mal olor, tienen muchos problemas de filtración. La playa es pésima, el personal necesita orientación en cuanto servicio al cliente, en ocasiones el bufete tenía buen sabor, en otras no, pero todo lo demás fue aceptable.

Tiene que mejor el servicio y el personal que recibe en el lobby buscar que tenga vocación de servir el supervisor que nos atendió muy mal el trato , el año pasado fui a Riu Repúblic y quede encantada pero este puede dañarbuena imagen de la cadena de los Riu.

Fui por recomendación y quedé decepcionada el personal es muy arrogante lo último k hizo una supervisora k me mando a sacar del restaurante yo con mi plato en mano mi vestido estaba húmedo . También las neveras vacías y otros clientes con su nevera llena no siento pero es mi última vez ahí.

Muy malo el hotel, comida muy mala y nunca hay de nada, los restaurants a la carta nunca tienen nada solo un plato de milagro! Bebidas malas. Y el servicio pesimo, los empleados disgustados en su mayoria

Pésimo y no por el protocolo, pues entendemos ciertos aspectos pero el personal fue grosero e irrespetuoso. Y falto suministro en las habitaciones que nada tiene que ver con guardar el protocolo .

Hermoso hotel! Enorme! Siempre impecable. Tiene de todo como para no salir a ningún lado. Uno de los Riu más lindo que conocí. Buenos restaurantes, buena comida, bien abundante, buen bar y hermoso espectáculo de noche. Hay algunos restaurante q se llenan apenas abren y ya no se puede entrar pero hay muchas opciones

El peor hotel en punta cana que eh venido para empezar ni comida tienen parecen hormigas arriba de la comida los cuartos horrible llegue de un vuelo de Miami y cuando llego me dicen que no tienen comida havia muchas personas locales no se los recomiendo para nada no pierdan su tiempo renten en otro lado

Lo único que sentí un poco de descuido fue con el servicio en la comida. Por dos veces tuvimos que salir a buscar una persona para que recoja la mesa, para poder ocuparla.
